Permanent resident from South Korea. After acquiring permanent resident status in Canada, she left with her two children and remained abroad for six years. She applied for PR travel document to return, but IRCC denied it on the basis that she had failed to meet the residency requirement. We successfully appealed this to the Immigration Appeal Division, explaining to the Board that she had been remained abroad to escape difficult family circumstances in Canada. She was allowed to retain her PR status and return to Canada to be with her children.
